Boracay's Kiteboarder have successfully completed round 1 of Asia's Kiteboarding Tour

For the first time Bintan Island in Indonesia has hosted the grand opening of the Asian Championship Tour - KTA 2013. Taner Aykurt, who has chosen Boracay as his winter destination and works part-time as a Kite-Instructor for Funboard Center Boracay, has successfully completed round 1 and made it twice to the Top 3.

4th KITEBOARD TOUR AISA at Bulabog Beach, Boracay

Asia's greatest Kitesurfing Competition KTA will be hold coming month on Boracay. The event takes place from the 26.-30.of March 2013 on the most beautiful island of the Philippines. Bulabog beach side of Boracay is well known as Asia’s best place for kiteboarding and windsurfing as the wind is pretty consistent and the bay is protected by a large reef, promises flat water for better perfomance in freestyle as well for all races.
Boracay is one of the Philippines top island holiday destinations and offers next to the spectacular event other watersport activities as windsurfing, SUP and diving. A great varity of international restaurants at the famous White Beach, breathtaking sunsets and night life until sunrice will satisfied all non-competitors. Kiteboarding courses at Bulabog Beach

Bulabog Beach presents again it's bright side: Sunshine, clear blue sky and inviting wind condition for kiteboarding and windsurfing. Watertemperatur up to 26 degrees do not only warming the heart of every Windsurfer and Kiteboarder; but allows long kite-lessons without getting cold feet ;-)  Funboard Center Boracay is located at an expanded beach and gives all students more safty while landing and launching the kite. An offshore sandbar allows kite-teaching in knee deep water even if the water level gets high.



Tanner, our turkish kite-instructor, is a multi-awarded champion in kiteboarding and introduce all advanced kiteboarders to the first free style moves as jumps, graps or transitions. After a short briefing at the beach, Tanner sends the kite-student on the water while he will catch the first moves on video. Back onshore he explains the kitestudent- mostley with a fesh fruit shake at Café Tabou- incorrect kite or board control, well shown on the movie. Physical encouraged and mentaly prepared both go back to the water for more praxis. Satisfaction guaranteed!







IKO-Certified Kitesurfing-Courses at Funboard Center Boracay

Our goal is not only for you to become an independent kitesurfer. The main focus is to ensure that you learn all about the safety-system to know the true promise of kiteboarding. Therefore all kite-instructors of Funboard Center Boracay are IKO certified and are following the international IKO teaching standards. We are teaching all the courses on a new kite gear from Slingshot, mostly on the Rally, which is a perfect kite for beginner and intermediate kiteboarders. A qualified instructor will always be with you and all of our kites are equipped with safety systems. As a student you will always wear an impact vest and a helmet to secure your saftey.


Funboard Center Boracay joins the Red Cross Volunteer Run 2013

Wind-and Kitesurfers from Funboard Center Boracay join the Red Cross Volunteer Run 2013.THE BORACAY Red Cross was scheduled to hold the 2nd Boracay “Million Volunteer Run” on Sunday, the 10th of February 2013. Even though the start was timed at 6 am on Sunday morning most volunteers did not hesitate to get up early to join this event. Taking into account that most volunteers has celebrate Chinese New Year the night before!!! The funds will be raised for the Red Cross Volunteers Training Program on disaster management and equipping the Filipino communities with life-saving tools.

After a quick coffee at Café Tabou the group just arrived in time for the start. Simone had to catch up as she promised to be back at 7am and serve all runners a great breakfast before they jump back on the kite- or windsurfing board... thanks to Gido, Stephan, Glynn, Mads, Anders and Gilbert :-)
